Curriculum for Excellence

It is our belief that creating and exploring music in this way will increase pupils confidence, self esteem and have a very positive effect on their  social skills and communication.  It will allow pupils to be able to express their feelings and emotions in a creative and powerful way which can also have a very positive effect on how people communicate and interact with the world around them.

Music creation and music production is a very creative process that requires good team work and communication skills from each individual.  It requires each individual to be an effective contributor and will give each pupil a good hands on experience and grasp of the latest music technologies that are available and used professionally. It will increase awareness and understanding of the possibilities of studying full time in Higher education leading to a career in the creative arts.

Pupils will be able to express themselves, their feelings, ideas and beliefs in the music that they will be working on and producing.  Each piece will be personal to the individuals involved in the process.

A person’s contribution to the arts is important both individually and for society. Music plays a big part in most people’s lives, and having the knowledge and skills to contribute toward this, both for a person’s own creativity and for others to appreciate, enjoy and collaborate with is extremely valuable.
